Dear Jens,

Thank you very much for information and for me important are patches a specially configuration batman and or others because I can compile own

firmware. That you know that I have own patched OpenWRT to work with hamradio channels below 2.4 Ghz na on 5.6 Ghz. I have use numbering like

channel -1 I use 254 channel -2 253 .... . I have patched ath9k and ath5k (it is useful for us for Mikrotik RB411 with miniPCI cards like WMIN166 etc)

I have patched iw, iwinfo library and hostapd to use channels below 2.4 Ghz with numbering 254, 253,252 ..... (similar like use UBIQUITI in compliance Test mode)

I will be download your patch and get files necessary to use batman and in next week I will be look how this working with my WR740 (v4.x) and RB411.

Salut Waldek,

indeed you can use just the configuration of BATMANadv and Avahi on top of your patches to set up and run the mesh. To add in the package avahi-tools you have to add in the libavahi... first.

If you use windows clients the tools Bonjour.msi and BonjourBrowserSetup.exe will be helpful whereas Linux supports it out of the box. I will put the tools online.

Don’t hesitate to ask if you need information about how to do the configuration or how to handle the mesh. A Mobile Adhoc Network behaves different than the good old fashion style infrastructure network. But if you understand why there is never a centralized authority you find it charming – like amateur radio. Smiley

ciao

Jens

Perhaps we should join your and our patches into on common patch?

As far as I see there’s only a difference between the channel numbering on 2.3 GHz ...

Salut Waldek,

sorry for the delay but my girl-friend ordered me to setup a new multimedia environment first ...

diff -u original.c new.c > original.patch
patch < foo.patch
patch foo.txt < bar.patch

Depending on where you take the diff you have change the two path directives in the patch file.

ciao

Jens

PS: I will sum our email conversation and put it on the forum of arcman.de. To multiply what we have we should announce it to fellows.
